“Swords ‘n Magic and Stuff” sets forth for adventure on Steam Early Access this September

Following its huge Kickstarter success, independent game developer Kindred Games is super proud to announce that its ambitious open-world RPG Swords ‘n Magic and Stuff will be launching into Steam Early Access on September 8th. Created as a freeform adventure, Swords ‘n Magic and Stuff gives players total freedom to choose their destiny with no classes, levels or restrictions. Adventuring alone or with friends, players’ are free to explore the game’s stylish low-poly world of arid deserts, snowy peaks and lush forests. Epic quests await players who want to slay monsters, explore Orc-infested caves, hunt for forbidden treasure or maybe just buy a really lovely house and fill it with fancy items. Whatever the player’s deepest desire, Swords ‘n Magic and Stuff is a relaxing adventure for all ages, centered firmly around the joy of discovery.

Swords ‘n Magic and Stuff sees new players arriving into port in the beautiful open-world of Tirawyn. Where the player goes next is totally up to them. Intrepid adventurers can go questing to their heart’s content. Scale a peak, slay a bunch of nasty monsters and hunt for hidden treasure. Less combat-hungry players wanting to keep their swords firmly in their sheaths can choose from a wide range of gentler activities from tending the land to working as a blacksmith in town. Whatever players want to be, Swords ‘n Magic and Stuff gives them the freedom to experience the game however they want.

Developer Kindred Games’ vision of driving the player experience through discovery and curiosity is what lies behind the magical and hand-crafted world of Tirawyn in Swords ‘n Magic and Stuff. The freeform gameplay is enthralling when played alone, but is even better when enjoyed with friends. Multiplayer enables players to jump into each other’s games at any point to party up and head out on amazing adventures together. Players can even take their houses with them and show off their collections.

Wanting a game that he could play together with his young family, Kindred Games founder, Michael Kocha, began developing Swords ‘n Magic and Stuff as a solo passion project. Now, after three years in development and an incredibly successful Kickstarter campaign that saw it smash through all of its stretch goals, the game will continue to deliver incredible new experiences for players. Explorers will see the world expand significantly during Early Access with a ton of new creatures, areas, quests and more to be revealed in due course.
